It’s sad news, Clamor Magazine has gone under. The magazine which best fit the generation of activism coming out of the Seattle 1999 WTO protests has ceased publication. Clamor was a great magazine, but the economics of running a small independent magazine eventually ate them alive. From what i know, they survived as long as the editors were working other day jobs and putting in insane hours to keep the magazine coming out. Transitioning to having paid staff, a more sustainable organization for the people who made clamor, wasn’t possible. Josh has a good post looking back on the years of clamor and other radical media outlets which still survive including the new standard news, left turn, fault lines, the indypendent, z magazine, and others.

Don’t forget Anarchy magazine. Still independent, still surviving.
