Granting Citizenship to the Imperial Army
The US Army held a cerimony in Iraq granting US citizenship to 140 foreign national soldiers while serving the US occupation in Iraq. This is quite similar to how the Roman empire granted citizenship to it’s soldiers after years of service. The first two soldiers to die in the latest Iraq war were actually guatemalans, they were posthumously granted passports.
