Blog-a-thon for protest.net??

Looks like Sofie, a radical lesbian blogger from Belgium, has picked protest.net to raise money for in a 24 for hour day-o-blogging. I don’t know Sofie, and i’ve never visited her website, but I do know a couple folks who live in Antwerp and Bart who lives somewhere else in Flanders and has a blog at pseudopunk.be. I’m sure that i know somebody who knows somebody who knows Sofie, as that is how the world seems to work. Anyway, we’ll probably do something super geeky like buy more ram for yada.protest.net, our primary server, which is named ‘yet another dead anarchist.’ It’s play off of both anarchist infoshop names and the ‘yet another’ naming scheme of the unix world.

While talking about lesbians and protest.net it reminds that a while back Curve Magazine did a piece on protest.net. We were happy to get the coverage and the free issue, but it just seemed like we’d expect On Our Backs or GirlFriends to write about the site long before Curve ever did. Pride weekend happened here in Montevideo this past Saturday and there’s some nice coverage of the rather small but enthusiastic celebration of the Uruguayan Queer community.
